1/22/2010 - Twala Meju, author of the highly anticipated children's book, "Mommy, Why Is My Skin So Dark?" presents "It's All about The Chocolate" Book Release Gala. This red carpet(red carpet starts at 2pm) gala will be held on February 20, 2010 at The Tupac Amaru Shakur Center located at 5616 Memorial Drive in Stone Mountain, GA 30083. This event starts at 2:30pm and ends at 4pm.
Mommy, Why Is My Skin So Dark is a sincere approach to etch beauty, uniqueness and pride into our various characteristics and cultures. Twala Meju transformed a conversation that hatched between mother and daughter into an opportunity to encourage and empower little girls of all colors and hues.
The youth inspired event will be hosted by Diamond Diva and Candi of The Pretty Hustlaz; an empowering movement of young executive women. Sponsors Power Entertainment Group, Milkshake NYC, U Street Entertainment, Star Quality Entourage, Crossover Mentoring Group, Major P Productions and Universal Music Group are inviting people of all ages to come out and indulge themselves in decadent chocolate desserts, performances, autograph signings and gift bags fit for a celebrity as we also pay homage to Black History Month.
This event will feature live performances by The OMG Girlz whom consist of T.I.'s step-daughter, "Star", Lil Wayne's daughter, "Baby Carter", and their two best friends "Beauty" and "Lo Lo." Lexi Breed, daughter of the late legendary MC Breed, VP (Voice of The People) and debuting The School Girlz featuring Pac's Kids. Music provided by Atlanta's own, DJ Feel X and DJ Quest of The Hittmenn DJ's.
Tickets are $15.00 and will be available online via www.twalameju.com with 5% of the ticket sales benefiting The Ye'le Haiti Earthquake Fund.
